Why is there so much perfume in a perfume bottle?

Most perfumes are sold in amounts that no self respecting person could possibly use in the time that the perfume expires, so why put so much in the bottle? Why not sell a smaller, petite version? Why is there so much perfume in a perfume bottle?
Actually, most people tend to use it (all) or use keep it for something like a keepsake.

Also, they sell most perfumes in more sizes than you'll see at a department store.

You can have easy access to the 'sample' bottles at Target. They have designer names in itty bitty sizes, usually in a bundle of 4-5 different scents.

Oh, and I'm not sure if perfume actually 'expires', but it does start to smell alcohol-y over a (very very very long) period of time. Why is there so much perfume in a perfume bottle?
i didnt even know it expired
Because they get you to pay $50 for a large bottle, where they'd only make $20 off of you for a smaller one.
I don't think perfume expires and if it does have an expiration date, what in it could possibly ';expire'; or spoil that it cant be used? The perfumes that I wear don't (have expiration dates or) a large quantity of perfume. I guess the cheaper stuff does?
my mother uses her perfume up in 3 moths after sahe gets it and ihave smaller bottles and i use mine up way faster
