How long does a typical bottle of perfume last before losing it's scent and not smell more like alcohol?

I currently have a bottle of perfume that I've had for 3 or 4 years and I'm wondering if I should throw it out or is it still good? How long does a typical bottle of perfume last before losing it's scent and not smell more like alcohol?
It can last for ages. Perfumes have no expiry date so as long as you keep it closed nothing is gonna happen to it. You can use your perfume for years to come, as long as you keep it tightly closed.

Id just test it out. Spray some into the air and see what it smells like. If you think it still smells good, use it one day and check the scent where you sprayed it on you through out the day. If it lasts and still smells nice, keep it.

put it in the fridge for maybe and hour and it should be like new. the chemicals in the perfume will recharge and it wont smell bad anymore or if it doesnt smell bad still put it in the fridge
It depends on the perfume...I have had bottles of perfume I bought at Dillards well over 4 years ago that still smell wonderful....if you buy the cheap stuff at a local department store...A year at the most....

I Hope this helps you,

Happy Holidays

The experts say one to two years, but I have had them longer and they are fine. Storing them in the fridge does help keep it ';fresh';. Just use your nose to judge or rely on someone else to do a sniff test.
